Looked under the bathroom vanity the other day and noticed a small puddle spreading across the tile right at the foot of the toilet. Now that I'm paying attention, there seem to be three things wrong at the same time: water pooling at the base after every flush, a slight rocking motion when I sit down, AND a faint sewer smell that wasn't there before. My small bathroom already feels cramped, so having a wet floor on top of everything else is driving me crazy.

I've blotted the water dry a couple of times and it keeps coming back — always seems to show up right after someone flushes, not just randomly throughout the day. The toilet itself is several years old and I can't remember it ever being serviced. Not sure if all three symptoms are connected or if I'm dealing with multiple separate issues.…more

During a routine walkthrough of one of my units, I noticed the toilet in the main bathroom shifts noticeably side to side when you sit on it. According to what I've read, a toilet should be perfectly stable at the base — but this one moves what feels like almost half an inch in each direction, which seems way more than a minor wobble. I measured the gap under one side of the base and it looks like about 3/16 of an inch on the left side and almost nothing on the right, so the numbers just don't match what I'd expect from a properly set toilet.

I've had the unit occupied for a while and the tenant mentioned it started recently rather than being an ongoing thing. I want to figure out whether this is something I can send my handyman out to handle or whether it needs a licensed plumber — and more importantly, whether ignoring it risks damage to the floor or the wax ring seal underneath.…more

My maintenance team flagged a water issue at one of the units — there's a small but persistent puddle forming around the base of the toilet, and I'm trying to narrow down the cause before I send someone in to fix it. The building's maintenance guide says the toilet was recently reseated with a new wax ring, so that should rule out a failed seal — but the water keeps coming back regardless.

What's throwing me off is that the manual points to the wax ring as the default culprit for base leaks, yet I'm not sure that's actually what's happening here given the recent work. Looked everywhere online and feel a little silly asking this, but I recently installed a bidet seat in our master bath and it's just... not spraying. We got it set up a few weeks ago and it was working fine, and now when I press the wash button nothing happens at all — no water, no noise, nothing. The toilet itself flushes and refills just fine, so I'm guessing it's something specific to the bidet?

I'm a pretty new homeowner and this is the fanciest thing we've added to the bathroom so far, so I really don't want to break it or make things worse by poking around in the wrong places. Is this something I can figure out myself, or am I already in over my head? Probably a dumb question, but where do I even start?…more

Found a bidet seat I really like — it has a heated seat, warm-water wash, and a warm-air dryer — but now I'm second-guessing whether my bathroom is even wired for it. The only outlet in that bathroom is on the wall beside the vanity mirror, which is a good four or five feet from the toilet. I don't want to buy something and then find out I need a major electrical project just to plug it in.

Is a standard bathroom outlet enough, or does a bidet seat need its own dedicated circuit? And is it a problem that mine is GFCI-protected — does that interfere with anything? Would love to know what to look for before I pull the trigger on this purchase.…more
